Lesson 5: Onlays / Bonding to Enamel
Create biomimetic dental work. Occlusional area enamel makes teeth seem hard but they are actually quite compliant as you follow the density gradient down to the root. Teeth bend under occlusional stress instead of breaking or cracking because they have flexible bases. This flexible base is vital to a tooth's function - the lower half of the tooth should be preserved whenever possible. Then, by adhesively reconstructing the tooth in distinct stages, each part of the dental onlay can be created with a modulus of elasticity similar to that of the dental material it is replacing.Onlays / Bonding to Enamel covers all of the following:
- Boyde's lines
- Uribe's angles
- Opdam's bevels
- Kidd's white spots
- Tooth banking
- Onlay prep
