Free Lecture: What is Biomimetic Dentistry
Improved Clinical Outcomes Guided by Natural Teeth
Wednesday, December 3
6:30 pm MST (UTC-7)
CE Hours: 1 Lecture Hour
Dr. David Alleman, DDS
Dr. Davey Alleman, DMD
Biomimetic dentistry is restorative dentistry that mimics a tooth’s natural function, and by achieving a natural function, greatly improves outcomes for patients. In this hour-long lecture, Dr. David Alleman, DDS and Dr. Davey Alleman, DMD define what restorative dentistry aims to mimic when returning a tooth to natural function, how this creates longer-lasting restorations and tips for practitioners interested in incorporating biomimetic protocols into their daily practice.
Objectives
Attendees will learn:
The goals of biomimetic dentistry
Benefits for patient outcomes
Tips for incorporating biomimetic protocols into your practice
Lecture Information
Biomimetic Bonds
Teeth have strong enamel and resilient dentin that is fully connected around the pulp chamber. This make-up allows the tooth to function as a cohesive unit under the forces of occlusion to withstand cracking. Biomimetic dentistry mimics this connection by creating a bond to dentin that mimics the dentin-enamel junction, returning the restored tooth to natural function.
Biomimetic Structure
Natural teeth are free from caries and cracks into dentin, so biomimetically restored teeth are too. The Six Lessons Approach to Biomimetic Dentistry offers complete protocols for caries and crack removal around the pulp, even in deep defects.
